Good Morning
This blog contains important update information
Site Visit
We are really pleased to be able to tell you that we have secured a site visit for parents and pupils tomorrow Wednesday 20th at 5:30pm. This will be a chance for us to show you the new school and for your children to be familiar with where they will be in September. Please can you ensure that for your visit you and your children are wearing steel toe-capped boots or wellington boots. We will not be required to wear any other protective equipment for this visit. I will send out a site plan of how to arrive safely at the site and where we will meet, later on today. As you can probably understand the builders are being generous in allowing us access before the site is complete and belongs to us, and we are very grateful to them and for their time in staying later for us. Please ensure you arrive in time to begin the tour at 5:30 as we only have time to conduct one tour of the building.
Please can you bring your registration and wrap around care forms (if required) on this date if you haven't given them to us already.
Uniform
We have had a number of enquiries about uniform, I am sorry if this is unclear. I have broken it down below by year group and hope this will clarify any confusion. Where possible we would want the children to have logo items but we understand that this is not always possible, so we are asking that each child has at least one logo polo shirt and logo jumper for day wear and one logo t-shirt for P.E. Please remember to name everything as then the investment you have made will last longer as items will not go missing.

Hot Dinners
Hopefully you will have received the dinner menu and allergens letters in last week's email. We will send those again for children who have recently joined us. We will be operating a daily choice for the children and will update you nearer the time on how this will work with payment for pupils in Y3 to Y6.
We hope as many of you as possible will be there next Tuesday and look forward to seeing you then!

Pupil Induction and School Visit
Good Morning
Hopefully you have already received your email information about tomorrow's pupil induction sessions. It is repeated in this blog and further information about site visit and uniform is detailed below.
Pupil Induction
We are so looking forward to welcoming your children
tomorrow for our pupil induction session. This will take place at Lydiard
Millicent Primary School, as the Ridgeway Farm building is still under
construction – but on time and looking great!
Pupils can arrive from 12.50 at the front office to be
registered into their classes. You will need to sign and leave contact details
and note any medical conditions as we do not yet have this information. Your
children will need to bring with them a water bottle, any prescribed medicine
such as inhalers or epi pens. They will need to wear their school uniform or
practical clothes and sensible shoes as some of the activities will require
them to be active.
Pick up is promptly at 3pm. Please walk around the rear of
the school building onto the playground and your children will be released to
you from middle door of the building. Please be aware this is also when Lydiard
children are being collected so it will be busy and parking will be difficult.
Please park in the village hall car park or in another safe area as parking is
so limited at the school site. These parking areas do get busy very early just
to be warned – hopefully not a problem we will have at the Ridgeway site!
At pick up it would be lovely for those that can, to stay
and join in with the cream tea we are preparing for Ridgeway families. A few of
the Lydiard families have been invited so it is a good opportunity to meet
other families joining Ridgeway Farm and some of our partnership families. This
will finish by 4pm. Please note you will be responsible for your child from 3pm
and so if you are not able to stay for the cream tea please ensure you have
collected them at the end of the induction session at 3pm.
We are in the process of arranging a visit to the school for pupils and parents before the summer holiday. As soon as we have confirmation of a date and time we will let you know.
School Uniform
School uniform can be purchased from the Famous School Branch
We look forward to seeing your children tomorrow at their induction session.

09/06/2016 Stay & Play and Dates
Good Afternoon
We hope you are all well and have enjoyed a lovely half term break. A very warm welcome to new parents and pupils that have recently been accepted at Ridgeway Farm, we are so pleased you will be joining us on this exciting journey.
Stay and Play Session
Thank you to those of you who were able to join us at our stay and play session at Lydiard Millicent just before half term. It was so nice to put faces to names, of those that we hadn't yet had a chance to meet. I am sure you will agree, that we all had a good time trying out the different sports and getting to know each other.
Parent Information Session 14th June
As you hopefully have seen on our save the date leaflet, next Tuesday 14th June we are running two parent information sessions for Ridgeway Farm CE Academy. These will be held at Lydiard Millicent Primary School. We are offering two meeting times and both meetings will be identical in content so please only attend one. These sessions will hopefully answer any questions you may have; provide information on starting the term in September; what school uniform will be and how to purchase; school timings; provision in the breakfast and after school clubs and also a chance to meet the teachers and staff.
The first meeting is 4-5pm with a short session just for Reception starter parents at the end of this session and then repeated 7-8pm, again with a short Reception parent slot at the end. If you are unable to attend these meetings we will post out an information pack to you and you of course are welcome to contact us with any questions you have, that may not have been answered.
Pupil Induction 28th June
The above meetings are just for parents - don't forget our pupil induction session for all pupils starting at Ridgeway Farm in September on Tuesday 28th June 1-3pm at Lydiard Millicent School and followed by a cream tea which families are encouraged to attend. This will be an opportunity to also meet some families from our partner school.
The School Building
The building work is coming along really well and everything is still on schedule. By next week the first classroom should be complete and orders have been placed, ensuring we all have something to sit on in September!
We hope you are enjoying this gorgeous sunshine safely and look forward to seeing you soon.
Best Wishes
Mrs Luce and Mrs Gibbard

18/05/2016 Ridgeway Update
Good Afternoon,
Welcome to the Ridgeway Farm CE Academy blog. This is a new blog to provide up to date news from Ridgeway Farm CE Academy and act as a reminder of upcoming events.
Just over a week ago now, staff, a few children and their parents; had the opportunity to visit the new school site. It was very exciting to tour the school building and see the progress that is being made. If there are other opportunities to visit the school site in the near future we will let you know. The builders are doing a fantastic job and so far everything is on schedule! Here is a link to the Link Magazine article of the visit:
Last week we also had a successful letter drop around the Ridgeway Farm and Mouldon View community and we are very excited that more pupils are choosing to join us at Ridgeway Farm.
Dates:
Just a reminder that tomorrow, (Thursday 19/05/16) is our parent consultation drop in evening from 5-6pm. This is an opportunity for you as parents and members of the community to share your hopes for Ridgeway Farm CE Academy, sharing best practice you have seen in other schools and a chance for you to have input into the shaping of the school. It is not a requirement to be here for the whole hour, but to pop in and chat to us at a time that is convenient for you within the hour. No information will be given out at this meeting about starting school in September, so we will not be discussing uniform, meals, times of school day etc. All of this information will be shared at our parent/carer information meeting on Tuesday June 14th.
For pupils currently in Y1-Y6
Please come along to our stay and play session at Lydiard Millicent Primary school next week 26/05/2016 from 4-5pm. It will be great to meet you all, introduce you to other pupils in the school and have fun together playing games together. Drop off will be from 3:45. Parents you are welcome to stay or leave your child/children with us. We will require parents to sign their children in and out and provide emergency contact details/consent for drinks and snacks etc.
Parking is very limited at the school site so the best option is to park at the bottom of the school lane in the village hall car park and walk up the lane to the school.
We would like to finish by thanking you so far for all of your support and kind words. The school will succeed and be outstanding because of your enthusiasm and support and we can't wait to start this journey with you.
